Ulagam Sutrum Valiban was released without posters because the then Government increased the Tax on posters and also increased the Entertainment Tax. (This invisible killer destroyed most of the Tamil film heroes of that time including Ravichandran, Muthuraman, A.V.M.Rajan, Gemini Ganesan, S.S.Rajendran etc. and also Mu.Ka.Muthu the most touted hero to replace MGR) the survivors were MGR and Sivaji Ganesan, who had large fan followers.
